I am new to VBScript and i have a problem in getting the application path to set the database path(like app.path)
Data Source=C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\DataBase\collection.mdb;
Persist Security Info=False"
Here instead of giving the whole path how can i get the path???

Server.MapPath(RelativePath) will give the absolute physical path of a relative path (relative to the current ASP page)

It will work if this is an ASP page. If you're trying this by running a .vbs file from your desktop it won't because you're using WSH.
Again if you're running Server-Side Web pages (I'm assuming this since this is the ASP, ASP.NET forum) VBScript is about the easiest way to go. If this is a desktop app you'll get better performance running full VB.
Of course if possible I'd recommend using .NET.

Sure you could do it. There are limitations, though. For one thing ADO objects are unsafe so the user will have to lower their Internet Security. Also you'll have to make sure that the user has an adequate MDAC installed. Also there are no objects like Server available to resolve your names. If you're using Access, you have to use physical file paths. (Either Map a drive or use UNC (\\) notation) as it needs Read/Write file permissions to work (and doesn't work over WebDav like other office programs will). Lastly the network connections ADO makes won't run over most firewalls.
So if you're dealing with a local Intranet Scenario where you have tight control over the client the answer is yes. If not the answer is a practical no. (Its possible, but way too much work to be worth it).

I have created an aspx form where most of the controls are added dynamically. If I redraw the form with the same set of control, the dynamic controls do not seem to be redrawn with the new values. For example, I have checkbox that was checked. I select my button to reset it. Stepping through the code, I see the checkbox checked property is set to false. The form comes back up as if nothing has been altered. The checkbox is still checked.
Has anyone else run into this problem with ASP.NET? If so, how did you resolve this issue?

Are all of your controls tagged with runat="server" within the tag? Your subroutine written in VB running on the server to reset the values will only work on controls that have that prefix. Also make sure you wrap your controls within a form tag.
<form name="myForm" id="myForm" runat="server">
....
<asp:textbox name="myText" id="myText" runat="server"/>
...
</form>

Here is a snippet of my VB code that adds a dropdown listbox to my form dynamically. How do I set the controls in my VB code to force it to runat server?

Your controls are runat=server, they are certainly not being created on the client.
Make sure you are persisting the value you want to change. Remember when the page reloads it is redrawing the controls as if for the first time.

If this code is in your Init event make sure your checking for Page.IsPostBack otherwise your controls get re-created and initialized on every PostBack.

I do check to postback and the controls are redrawn with the new values. However, the UI displays them as if no change has occurred. I can even step through my code, see the values being reset, and the UI will not reflect the change. Any other suggestions?

I want the full screen only for the first (home) page of the site. As soon as the user clicks on that page, all the other pages should be in the same window (not in new window) & in the normal size screen (not full screen).

We have a situation where we would like to programmatically prevent the Windows logo from spinning, since some of the operation that we are peforming requires the connection between the browser and the server to be open. What are the programming controls that one can use? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

As I recall you would either have to use IEAK to distribute your own version IE or create new web browser application.
The spinning globe is a resource in the dll. You could always try replacing it with your own but that may cause unknown issues.
Why do you want to stop the world anyway? The connection would already be open, the spinning is a progress indicator when, for instance, a page is being streamed in.
