Do you have code execution turned on? You should see something that says execution permissions, you need at least Scripts only. And need to make sure FrontPage Server Extensions are setup, and that you have the right version of ASP.NET selected under the ASP.NET tab.

Hi, I need help please
I usually code in coldfusion but now i want to create 2 text html files where i
pass a parameter on href?
This normally works in coldfusion!
Page1
<a href="test.htm?test=100','','height=300,width=300">
Page2
<html>
<head>
<param name="test" value="" />
</head>
<body>
<cfoutput>
#test#
</cfoutput>
</body>
</html>
It displays #test# but in the url i can see the value it's passing but the second
page does not pick it up!
Quote"Without some kind of server-side processing (PHP, ColdFusion, etc.) or
some fancy JavaScript, you aren't going to be able to display a URL
variable. Raw HTML can't do that"
Does anyone have an example of some javascript/ or other that can do it?
Regards </a>

Hi: Thank You very much but the idea did not come off as what i thought!
I found another script but my initial problem is not fixed!
script:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<title></title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<script type="text/javascript">
;(function(){
var field='Something', //set the name of the field
getQval = function (n) {
var r=new RegExp('[?&;]'+n+'=([^&;#]*)'), m=location.search;
return (m=r.exec(m))? unescape(m[1]) : null;
}, updateForm = function() {
var fname=getQval('fname')? getQval('fname') : 0;
document.forms[fname].elements[field].value=val;
}, val=getQval(field);
if(val){
if ( typeof window.addEventListener != "undefined" )
window.addEventListener( "load", updateForm, false );
else if ( typeof window.attachEvent != "undefined" )
window.attachEvent( "onload", updateForm );
else {
if ( window.onload != null ) {
var oldOnload = window.onload;
window.onload = function ( e ) {
oldOnload( e );
updateForm();
};}
else window.onload = updateForm;}}})();
</script>
</head>
<body>
<form action="ajax.htm">
<div>
<input type="text" name="Something">
</div>
</form>
</body>
</html>
I downloaded this example: Dowlod this example - very small file!http://www.codylindley.com/blogstuff/js/jtip/
from the net to fix the problem i have with my projects tooltip. We use the 'ALT' on a image to give tooltips so I download a workaround from the net - which works but it displays typed text pages.
so if i had 5 fields with tooltips - i would have to create 5 html pages. So i thought of passing a parameter like you assisted but the tooltip does not picki t up.
The script works great on page1 to page2
but not on the below code: on mouse over it shows the next page with text box but blank-no value - but if I open i new window then the value is there!
Please download the example - i'm not to sure how to fix this!
<html>
<body>
This works:<A HREF='ajax.htm?Something=test'>Click here</A>
Example from Net does not like it
<style type='text/css' media='all'>@import 'css/global.css';</style>
<script src='js/jquery.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
<script src='js/jtip.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
<tr>
<td colspan="10" align="center">
<a id="one" href="ajax.htm?Something=test" class="jTip">?</a>
</td>
</tr>
</body>
</html>

Hi Guys,
In ASP.net, how can I call the session or application variable using java script?
for example in my vb code behind I have the following codes:
Dim sTemp1 as String
Dim sTemp2 as String
Application("sTemp1") = "AAA"
Session("sTemp2") = "BBB"
What is the correct of calling the application value and session value in Java Script?
I tried this one but it doesn't work:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
function GetSession_Application()
{
var s1 = '';
var s2 = '';
s1 = Application("sTemp1").value;
s2 = Session("sTemp2").value;
}
</script>

You don't. Those services are available server-side, not client-side.
If you need values stored in the session on the client, you should add server-side code to write it to the page somehow (hidden field, script block, etc.)
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, you're right. I just need to modify my variables by using hiddenfield control.
Thanks man

How about this?
s1 = <%=Application["sTemp1")%>;<br />
s2 = <%=Session["sTemp2"]%>;

Apologies if this offends.....
I struggled to find the same, and in the end, went down the 'email' chain to colleagues, who basically chain emailed it for me. A list is only the starting point. The problem is the variations....
We all know what f*ck off means. So you have to check for that. or Fu*k or f**k or even just f***. If somebody wrote in an email **** off, you'd still get the jist. Where do you draw the line. Now my client's "clients" have started reversing the words...kcuf is so obvious, as is kc*f etc. How about fook yoo. Another one we've come across.
Then there is letter substitution - sh1t. sh!t. Sh*t. s4it 5hit. 5h1t. And on it goes. Regex is your friend here. And finally, bracketing words, so we get aFUCKa off. (wonder if Chris will pick that up). Which means you can't rely on a whole word seach.
I can't release the list as my client 'owns' it.
And scunthorpe is in the list of exceptions!

Hi Guys,
I am using some java script in my asp.net that will check the value of the textbox'txtDescription' if it is empty or not. Meaning if it is empty it will return false and if it is not empty then it will execute the confirm message. But I don't know if what should I add in order to work.
The confirm('Changes have not been saved. Discard Changes?') is working but when I added the statement - if (document.getElementByID("txtDescription").value == ''){ return false; } this doesn't work anymore.
What I only wanted is to check the value of txtDescription. If it is not empty then the confirm message will show up when I click the cancel button.
Did I missed something in my code?
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
function confirmation()
{
if (document.getElementById("txtDescription").value == '') {
return false;
{
var result = confirm('Changes have not been saved. Discard changes?');
if (result)
{
return true;
}
else
{
return false;
}
}
</script>

I think you are missing the closing } for first IF condition.
The javascript should look like:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" >=""><br />
function confirmation() <br />
{ <br />
<br />
if (document.getElementById("txtDescription").value == '') {<br />
return false;<br />
<big>}</big><br />
<br />
var result = confirm('Changes have not been saved. Discard changes?'); <br />
if (result) <br />
{ <br />
return true; <br />
} <br />
else <br />
{ <br />
return false; <br />
}<br />
<br />
}<br />
</script>
|
|
|
|
|
even this should do
function confirmation()
{
if (document.getElementById("txtDescription").value == '') {
return false;
}
return ( confirm('Changes have not been saved. Discard changes?') );
}

I was aiming for the original poster, not you - sorry. I realised you just cut'n'paste the code.

Thanks man, it's working fine now.
Can I ask additional question here? How can I check the value of Session and Application using java?
