Storing passwords as clear text - don't you think that's a bit insecure?
It is good practice to apply a 1-way salted hash[^] to passwords before storing them in a database. To check whether a user has entered the correct password, their input should be hashed and compared against the stored hash. The Membership API in ASP.NET 2.0 provides out-of-the-box support for password hashing.

So, you know his database format ? And you think it's a good idea to use default names for controls ? What if textbox1 and textbox2 accidentally were swapped ?

In order to answer this, we need to know how you store the passwords to start with. I suggest you read this[^]. I'd start by learning enough about SQL to understand how to write a database query, then you can continue to work on the codebase that you've been given, and perform the task at hand.

For some obscure reason, they hide this information in the documentation[^].

You'll have to tweak your page layout so that your report content doesn't span more than 1 page width.
You could i) Reduce the size of the page margins ii) Reduce the width of your report
Play around with these properties until the PDF output renders OK.

I have no idea what you even mean. Some wizard lets you import a SQL Server DB holus bolus ? How bizarre. I don't even use the database explorer in VS, I use SQL Server and write code in my data layer.
What are you doing exactly ?

In the absence of any source code, I can only assume you're hoping we'll use black magic to solve your problem. This is the right forum for ASP.NET questions, but not the right forum for black magic, sorry.

There's no way you're ever going to be able to develop if you CAN'T READ! "Please do not post programming questions here." it says so at the top of the page.
It doesn't matter that you asked your question in here too! You won't get an answer for it in this forum.

This is the ASP.NET forum, so he/she is probably within their rights to post an ASP.NET question here.
However the question was so vague that I doubt they'll get a response.

The question was posted in "The Lounge" forum when I replied to it. It was probably moved here by an administrator.
