Hi Karl,
I've just been reading this article on CP:
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/WPFMasterPageControl.aspx[^]
Did you make any headway on your amendments to Karin's initial idea? Seems like a neat solution and its something I want to implement but seems problematic at the moment in terms of these potential binding issues.
Thanks,
Jammer

Hi All,
I have a 'normal' WPF application that I've working on in Blend and VS. The problem I'm having is when debugging with break points.
When a breakpoint is hit I can't then tab away from the app i'm debugging in order to step through the code in VS ...
Any ideas?

You're starting the application in Visual Studio right??

Jammer,
What does tab away mean?
Are you referring to ALT-TAB?
Can you switch to Visual Studio using the task bar?

Hi Karl,
Indeed ALT-TAB ...
In fact this WPF window stays on top of everything! Even other apps like Outlook!

puzzle time.
Is this the main window secondary window?
Are you using the Top Most feature in your XAML or code?
Is this a Modal Dialog Window? In the old days we could make a window system modal.
This only happens on your system with this code and not other programs?

This is really confusing me now. The app has one window that is hosting a frame. Application pages are loaded into this frame.
I haven't applied any code to the behaviour of the window. Its not using the TopMost nor is it a modal dialog.
The only happens with this project ...
I've tried everything I can think of, i'm dumbfounded at this stage.

Try creating a separate solution and put the window in but not the other stuff.
If that works, then keeping adding pieces until you nail it down.

Sounds like the only option at this stage! Very weird!

Rabies bro, rabies!
But, there is a reason...
Is the project big, condidential or full of dependencies? If not, send it to me at: moleproject@yahoo.com and I'll look at it too.

Hiii...
I am receiving this error :--->
Server encountered an internal error. For more information, turn on customErrors in the server's .config file.
Server stack trace:
Exception rethrown at [0]:
at System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.HandleReturnMessage(IMessage reqMsg, IMessage retMsg)
at System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.PrivateInvoke(MessageData& msgData, Int32 type)
1) After googling, I found that customErrors mode="off can help.
Presently its True on Server side. Like this
RemotingConfiguration.CustomErrorsEnabled(true);
2) I am using .Net 1.1 on the server side and .Net 2.0 on client side.
3) Not getting this problem frequently. It has only 5% chances.
4) When I debugging found some interesting stuff:
class One
{
public string m_sResult = null;
public string GetInfo(string sID)
{
try
{
if(OnRequested != null)
OnRequested(sID);
return m_sResult;
}
catch(Exception ex)
{
WriteLog(“ “);
}
}
}
class Two{
void OnRequestedHandler(string sID)
{
try
{
One.m_sReult = "Done";
}
catch(Exception ex)
{
One.m_sReult = ex.message;
}
}
}
From the client side, I am calling One.GetInfo() method.
a) Event OnRequested(sID) raised and handled by class Two and One.m_sReult is set as "Done".
b) But on client side it returns NULL and also writes Log "Server encountered and internal....." on Server side.
So suggest me, what I should do to solve this problem.
I should use customErrors mode="off for better understanding?
I would appreciate any help or suggestions that anyone can provide.
Thank you.

Sidh - please move this to a more appropriate forum. This is for WPF/WCF (and possibly CardSpace but that's a bit of a grey area) - and as these don't work with .NET 1.1 then you're out of luck with getting help there.

In c# (or vb) I want to create a wpf application, a window with a canvas and a button. When the user clicks the button, a rectangle is showed on the canvas. If the user clicks on the rectangle, the user can perfom drag and drop actions with the rectangle over the canvas.
¿Somebody can give me ideas or links?
Thanks.

Good People,
Expression Blend is not opening my Visual Studio 2008 WPF Application. I just bought Expression Blend about a month ago and Visual Studio 2008 a month before that purchase. Any ideas? I am really behind the 8-ball on this project.
Thanks in advance.

What version of Blend did you get? Probably Blend 1.0, right?
If you purchased Blend a month ago, you should be entitled to the latest public release which is Blend 2.
After getting Blend 2, removed all previous versions of Blend, install the Blend 2 and you will be good to go.

And, if you are using Blend 1, rejoice at all the yummy bits you get when you have installed Blend 2. I liked Blend 1 - I love Blend 2. I have high hopes for 2.5.

I'm not sure if this helps, but I'll throw it out there:
If you're using Expression Blend version 1, there's a service pack[^] that fixes the
VS 2008 project compatibility problem.

Hi All,
I'm just wanting to get a bit of info about other people's use of this class. I have an instance of an Infragistics WPF Grid in my UI holding a list of audio files. When a user clicks on an entry my app plays the audio file.
The problem I'm seeing is that when the audio starts and the I move the mouse onto another item in the grid audio playback stops. I'm presuming that this is because the player is in the main UI Thread. I just wanted to know if anyone else has seen anything similar. If so I guess the workaround is to have the player operating in its own thread. Just wanted to check this thinking before I go off coding this into the application.
Any info would be great.
Cheers,
Jammer

Probably has to do with the Selection Changed Event code.
Josh Smith has a super article on Podder, that make use of the media control.
