Hi,
I have a stored procedure in sql server like this:
create procedure sp_insert
(
@some_value float
)
as
--insert statement here and the column is defined to float
go
I call it in ASP. and the code like this
set cmd=function to create the command
cmd.Parameters.Append cmd.CreateParameter("@some_value",5,1,,CDbl("text_value_here"))
cmd.execute
I got the error message to complain about can not convert nvarchar to float all the time. BTW, the function to create the command object is tested working.
My question is: How to deal with the float parameter in ASP code?
Thanks a lot in advance!

Does anyone know of a collection of new and/or updated .browser files for ASP.NET 2.0? We're back to the same old browsercap.ini issue we had in ASP in that new browsers and devices are constantly coming out but there's no coordinated effort (AFAIK) by Microsoft to keep things up to date.
If there is no such resource then hands up who would like to start one?
cheers,

People still use those things? Huh.
Sorry, can't help you. Try the ASP.NET forum...

Works for me... Try a simple bit of HTML, see if you can reproduce the problem with something small enough to post here (< 20 lines)

actually its works on mouse down event but as soon as mouse up fires, its take a:hover effect.

According to the CSS2 docs[^], that can be correct:
The :active pseudo-class applies while an element is being activated by the user. For example, between the times the user presses the mouse button and releases it.
You may want to be using the :focus pseudo-class instead of / in addition to :active .

How are you building your website ? If you're using ASP.NET ( and why wouldn't you, when ASP and PHP suck, and J2EE is a nightmare ), then I'd say SQL Server Express Edition is a good place to start. If you're using another platform, then perhaps MySQL is better supported, worth looking into.

Personally I prefer PHP + MySQL. I generally stay away from MS stuff though, so I don't care for ASP/ASP.net.

i am trying to add a out put parameter for parameter array like this
string SpName = "USP_SHIPPINGMETHOD";//store procedure name
OracleParameter[] param = {
new OracleParameter("STORESHIPPINGMETHODID",this.StoreShipId),
new OracleParameter("STOREID", this.StoreId),
new OracleParameter("PRICE",this.Price),
new OracleParameter("ONLINESHIPPINGMETHOD",this.OnLineShippingMethodID),
new OracleParameter("ACTIVE",this.Active),
new OracleParameter("PERCENT",this.percent),
new OracleParameter("SHIPPING_METHOD_NAME",this.ShippingMethodName),
new OracleParameter("METHOD_TYPE",this.MethodType),
new OracleParameter("CUSTOMCRITERIAID",this.CriteriaID),
new OracleParameter("QTY",this.Qty),
new OracleParameter("ADDITIONALCOST",this.AdditionalCost),
new OracleParameter("ADDITIONALQTY",this.AdditionalQty),
new OracleParameter("TEMPID",this.AdditionalQty).Direction=ParameterDirection.Output,
};
int r = OracleHelper.ExecuteNonQuery(connection, CommandType.StoredProcedure, SpName, param);
r = int.Parse(param["TEMPID"].Value.ToString());
Error Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Data.ParameterDirection' to 'System.Data.OracleClient.OracleParameter' (For TempId);

Doing that would classify your page as malicious in my opinion. That's a bit of an invasion of privacy.

This is ASP, not ASP.NET ? I'd look for C++ COM objects to do the work for you, seems most likely to succeed to me.

You can send mail using cdont or cdosys depending on server support. for cdont I am adding code
set mymail=server.createobject("cdonts.newmail")
mymail.mailformat=0
mymail.bodyformat=0
mymail.from="info@rpgwebsolutions.com"
mymail.to="poonam@indiabusinesszone.com"
mymail.subject="Here Subject will go.."
mymail.body="Body data will go here. You can add html tags in this data"
mymail.send
set mymail=nothing
for exporting reports to excel use this code in the head section of document:
Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel"
Response.AddHeader "Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=Task_Monitor_Reports.xls"
