Greetings to all,
I have just recently used the ajax autocomplete and after an hour or so, I finally go it to work. However, I noticed that only the 1st char of the input text is case sensitive. How do I set the autocompete control in such a way that every char that the user types in is case sensitive.
E.G.
Presently, this is what happens:
DB table values = hello, Hello, hEllo, hELLO
User input = hEllo
autocomplete value = hello, Hello, hEllo, hELLO
I want it to be:
User input = hEllo
autocomplete value = hEllo, hELLO

You don't. There are hacks that will work some of the time in some browsers, but they'll eventually go away because folks abuse them for things like disabling context menus instead of anything that actually helps the user. If someone is asking you to do this, then go back and tell them that it's a terrible idea and won't work.

I have a problem with ReorderList control. It does not work correctly when attribute DataSourceId is set to XmlDataSource... When I moving items of this control some strange message appears:
"Reorder failed. It is not a DataSource and does not implement IList."
I wonder to know, how must I fix this problem.
I heard that it happens only if XmlDataSource is used as DataSourceID in ReorderList Control, but I must use this option...
Is there any solution of this problem?
here is the print-screen of the message which appears:
http://krokodajl.drivehq.com/xmlreorder.jpg[^]
Code for the ReorderList Control:
<cc1:ReorderList runat="server" ID="rol1" DataSourceID="XmlDataSource1"
PostBackOnReorder="false" AllowReorder="true" ItemInsertLocation="Beginning">
<ItemTemplate>
<%#XPath("id") %>
</ItemTemplate>
<ReorderTemplate>
<asp:Panel ID="reorderPanel" runat="server" CssClass="reorderCue"></asp:Panel>
</ReorderTemplate>
<DragHandleTemplate>
<div class="dragHandle"></div>
</DragHandleTemplate>
</cc1:ReorderList>
Code for the XmlDataSource Control:
<asp:xmldatasource id="XmlDataSource1" runat="server" DataFile="~/XMLFile.xml" XPath="source/dane" />

I think that I must write function which will update xml file with data after reordering items of ReorderList.
Is this a good idea? And if it is, what should I do to make it work.

You can't use ASP.NET, you just can't. You need to ask 'how do I connect my flash file with SQL Server', it's a questin related to flash development. You can embedd your flash in an asp.net website, but no amount of .NET code will connect to a flash file.

function resizeWindow()
{
var screen_x = 150;
var screen_y = 100;
window.resizeTo(screen_x, screen_y);
window.moveTo(0,0);
}
just add the above javascript function inside script tags and call the function inside body tag:
<body onload="javascript:resizeWindow()" >

Rsult=[Failed]
Desc=[value]
Attr=[attr1=value,attr2=value]

I think you are really talking about formatting xml here, not a web service. Or am I missing something?

Hi,
I have a web page where I have a form that allows a user to enter his login. When the user submits the login, I want to display something according to the login value (it's an image uploaded by the user and linked to his login by a cookie).
When the page is loaded at the beginning, the piece of code that displays the image has an empty variable (which is quite logical) and nothing appears.
I tried to reload the page after the user type in his login. That works fine under Firefox. The variable is updated with the value in the form and the right image is displayed. But under IE, when the reload occurs, the text in the form disappears and thus, the variable remains empty.
Is there any way to reload only the part of the page that displays the image? I've been looking at frames but I will lose the ability to move my image in the page (actually the image is part of a virtual keyboard that I can move around).
Any other ideas?
Thanks !

Make an AJAX call if you need to, then just set the href of the img tag to change the image, in jscript.

Ok, I guess I will have a look at AJAX then.

So, as I said I went to AJAX. It is very good except that I have something wrong under Firefox. Everything is fine under IE7, but under FF2 when I submit my form, nothing happens anymore. I don't have any errors in the error console so I don't really see what's going on.
Sounds familiar?

Hi all,
I have a simple ASP page that uses QueryString to get a string passed to the ASP page in the URL and write it back to the page. The code page is set to 65001. I run it on IIS 6.
The server is configured with proper locales and all required code pages.
When i pass non English characters in the URL, it only shows spaces and nothing else.
Is the IIS server not configured properly or is there something special that should be done to get this to work?
The ASP page i'm talking about is just a test, the real ASP that i need to work is part of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 so i don't think the code page should be changed.
Thanks,

Hi All,
I have a new requirement to convert html/asp page to word document. This can be done using Response.ContentType & Response.AddHeader. But my web page can contain frames, in that case, the contents of all the frames should be appended to single word document (without frames). Response.ContentType & Response.AddHeader converts the page with frames to word document with frames. I need the word document without frames, with all frame contents appended to single word document.
Any Suggestions/Help ???

Savee

hi all,
I have a trouble with JavaScript, I want to get location (left, top) of a Frame (a page has three frames). I have tried with getting Document of the Frame
var body = DocFrame.getElementByTagname('body')[0]
var left = body.offsetLeft
however, it always return 0.
I'm very happy if you can point me to the answer
thanks,

You'll want the actual frame element in the document containing the frameset (i suspect you already have this, but can't tell from your example if that's how you're retrieving the frame's document). Once you have this, the offsetTop and offsetLeft properties should give you what you need.

setTimeout works great in Firefox, but I can't get IE to pass more than one argument. Does anyone know a trick?
|
|
|
|
|
There is no trick needed. How are you trying to pass the arguments?
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.
