Try to replicate this issue in an empty web app. If it occurs, then the problem is with your server's configuration (machine.config). If not, the problem is only application-level. My guess is that this is the case: see if you have a really low session Timeout set, or if you have a Session.Abandon() command somewhere in your program.

Hi,
I have created a login page using asp.net C#(not using login control).But I am wondering how to I validate the user input with SQL database? I have created a login.aspx with user input username and password, I put the code in login.aspx.cs,but I am not sure the syntax for asp.net in C#. So far, all the codes I search are for VB.net. I am not sure how do I validate user input with SQL database using asp.net in C#?
Do anyone have any recommended websites for this?
Thanks.

I think you're asking how to call a SQL database. You could only find VB examples ? They are easy to convert, and there's web sites that do it for free. Also, the code is the same if it's ASP.NEt or not, you just need to get some C# ADO.NET examples. Plenty on this site and elsewhere.

Hi Christian,
Can you give me the recommended website of learning asp.net using language C#, I am newbie to asp.net C#, so I am not sure how to read the data from SQL Express database and validate the user input from the database using asp.net C#. Mostly from book and internet are in VB language.
The bottom is my source code where I have tried to use SQLdataReader:
protected void btnSubmit_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
string uname = txtUserName.Text;
string pwd = txtPassword.Text;
string connectionString = "Data Source= .\\SQLEXPRESS;"
+ "AttachDbFilename=\"C:\\Documents and Settings\\kathy\\My Documents\\Visual Studio 2008\\WebSites\\WebSite1\\App_Data\\salon.mdf\";"
+ "Integrated Security=True;"
+ "User Instance=True";
SqlConnection myConnection = new SqlConnection(connectionString);
SqlCommand cmd = myConnection.CreateCommand();
cmd.CommandText = "SELECT * FROM [Customer]";
myConnection.Open();
SqlDataReader dr = cmd.ExecuteReader();
while (dr.Read())
{
if (dr.GetOrdinal("UserName").ToString() == txtUserName.Text)
{
Response.Write("Heelo");
//dr.Close();
}
//dr.Close();
myConnection.Close();
}
}
Thanks.

you should do a Binary_checksum in your SQL:
Example of a Stored Procedure with Binary_Checksum:
CREATE procedure [dbo].[SE_SelSecUserCredentials]
@UserName NVARCHAR(45),
@PassWord NVARCHAR(45)
AS
begin
SELECT
......., ............., ........
FROM
UserTable
WHERE
active = 1
AND BINARY_CHECKSUM(loginName) = BINARY_CHECKSUM(@UserName)
AND BINARY_CHECKSUM(password) = BINARY_CHECKSUM(@PassWord)
end

Hello,
I'm showing property news in my website throught RSS. And it's working fine in localhost but as i upload it over server then it's raising Runtime Error
my site url is:- http://www.investbackhome.com
and there is a link News it has further two sub-links like Property News-India and Property News- Overseas which are throwing the Runtime errors

Turn custom errors off. You will get the error message then.

Looks like you need to contact your server provider.

You can show the error message to them. They will have idea on that

I guess you'd have a db that's designed to take a page, I would presume as HTML, and index it's html against search terms. So you do the search, grab the result, and display it.

in search for resolution i came to url rewriting.
Among other problems like postbacks ther is another one
Subdomain rewriting...
I was trying to make rewriting of subdomain url rewriting using HTTP module but with no success. (eg. http://subdomain.domain.com/default.aspx rewrite to http://www.domain.com/default.aspx?id=subdomain)
Whenever I try to rewrite full URL I get error telling me it’s not supported J. As Url rewriting is doing internal address rewriting it is normal to get that kind of error but how to accomplish that kind of thing in ASP.NET?
P.S. my dev machine is WinXP Pro (one possible and default web site) no DNS.
So I use hosts. file for host heading that site in combination with setting IIS web site host header names
You get the best out of others when you give the best of yourself.

I guess you've found that it's not. You'd have to build a new timespan object, dividing every individual part by 3.

Use the timespan's TotalSeconds property, or a related one, to get the number of time units, divide that by three.

you are using SMTP Server to send mail using asp.Net not Exchange Server.
Your send item is the part of ExchangeMailBox . If it's a .pst file then also its alos takes data from Exchange only.
while sending mail using asp.net, data never pass to your Exchange server, that's why you did'nt get in your sent item.
Hope this clears you !!!
cheers,
Abhijit

If you send mail using MAPI, it will go through your mail program,
