Hi,
.Net applications can be run on the mobile devices provided the mobile has Windows Mobile Operating System and a Compact Framework.
J2ME is entirely a different technology and you do not need J2ME to run .Net applications.
I hope this would be helpful.

Look at .NET compact framework which allows to create applications which runs on Windows CE.

|
.NET CE is specifically for Pocket PC, PDAs and other Mobile Devices...
Try out them... .NET 2008 gives many advanced enhancements to .NET Compact Environment.

Hello,
I have a URL which goes to the different users. My URL is very long and can I make it smaller.
My URL looks like:
www.mydomain/registration.aspx?email=pavas.malviya@hh.com®key=%$%$@@###usueyend*&^$#^%^$#%^
Can I tweak it?
Regards,
Pavas

Since this is a registration page URL, I don't think you really need to rewrite it. Also passing email address through URL is not a good idea.

why do you want to send everything through querystring....
Its not good... use other means of transfer.....

This is a URL which users click and get activated to our site. Hence I need to bind the details with the email id. Other parameter is the unique 128 bit encrypted key.
Some time this URL is broken [based on the email client users use]. Hence it becomes difficult for them to get activated.

I have some code in a DLL that is used by several apps - some ASP.NET, some WinForms, and one console.
I need to set up logging in the DLL in different ways (e.g. using Trace for ASP.NET) according to the app type - is it possible to determine the app context from a DLL? e.g. by AppDomain ?

The easiest way is to pass a parameter to whatever class you want to instantiate. Of course, if httpcontext != null then it is a web application. I don't know if you can tell from the appDomain.
I didn't get any requirements for the signature

You got good advice on checking the http context. We use this to check the source of the code, and you can check it easily enough in your code simply by checking HttpContext.Current. If it's null, it's not a web app.

So it looks like the consensus is check HttpContext then - thanks

Hi,
I have ajax toolkit tab container on my form. On one of the tab panels , I have radio button list
with two radio buttons inside.
Now I want to find out in my javascript that which one is clicked.
But before that I can not get hold of radio button list in my javascript as its now nested. it becomes TabContainer1_TabPanelLeasedAssets_RadioButtonList_Main_Lease
var radioButtonlist1 = document.getElementsByName("RadioButtonList_Main_Lease")
returns null
so I am using
radioButtonlist1= $get('<%=RadioButtonList_Main_Leased%>');
which returns the object but then following code doesnt work
if (radioButtonlist1[1].checked)
{
alert ('second radio selected');
}
how to get which radio is selected under the radio list when its nested
regards
Vijay

radioButtonlist1= $get('<%=RadioButtonList_Main_Leased.ClientId%>');
Did you try using the clientID?
I didn't get any requirements for the signature
|
|

I get by it but it doesnt even give length property on the returned object
|
|
|
|
|
Can you access the length property if it is not in a tab container?
I didn't get any requirements for the signature
|
|
|

on another form i have radio button list where I get the radio buttonlist object by using document.getelementbyid function and i can access checked or length properties
but since this one is nested inside ajax tab container and tab panel
i have to use get$ and i can not avail these properties.

Hi Everyone,
i having problem use the __doPostBack in conent page,i have fileuploader in my conent page,and im using a javascript for check the correct file format has select from the user,my javascript is
functon checkfile()
{
__doPostBack('linkbutton1','');
}
i use this script onchange event of my fileuploader,but this is not working,(im using linkbutton onclick event for serverside validation for give a message),can anyone help me to do this.
thanks

This is just a guess, but is it the id of the button. The id changes if it is in a content place holder. You will have to add the script from your server code and use LinkButton1.clientId.
I didn't get any requirements for the signature

if you use master page you must use UniqueID instead of ClientId in your cod
Example:
__doPostBack("<%= btnRefresh.UniqueID %>;",'');
or
var pr = Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance();
pr._doPostBack(<%= "'" + btnRefresh.UniqueID + "'" %>;, '');

Show here code how you load data in CheckBoxList.

If there is no data to populate the checkboxlist with, then it wont display, simply as that.
The gridview has a default control which allows you to put a message if no rows are found.
Maybe with the checkboxlist you could just put a label when no data is displayed.
The answers posted by me are suggestions only and cannot be used in anyway against me.
