What if you try to use a tcp-monitor like TcpMon to get the difference between both requests? This will help you to start tackling the problem.

thanks, but how do i actually use that tool

TcpMon works like a proxy. Set the listen port to 8080 and the result port to the port of your webserver (default 80). Then your client sends the request to port 8080. Each request to the server on port 8080 will be displayed within tcpmon.

Is WPF team going to follow Silverlight to take System.Collections out of .NET Framework 4.x?
I've got a util class which contains a non-Generic Hashtable.
class Person
{
protected Hashtable _lstProperties;
public Hashtable Properties
{
get { return _lstProperties; }
set { _lstProperties = value; }
}
}
And property really is a template class ...
class Property<T>
{
...
}
This is why I can't use typed collection in class Person (i.e. Person.Properties = Hashtable as supposed to System.Collections.Generics)
Thanks!

Um, what? I don't think anyone can remove System.Collections, what are you talking about?
And I don't see you wouldn't be able to use a typed collection either.

|
|

look at example class Person design, you don't get to know property type until runtime.

I still don't follow what you're trying to say. If you're saying that you can't make Person generic, I don't see why not.

Silverlight is a subset of .NET and does not have all of the features of it, such as the example you provided. All .NET framework increments are designed to be backwards/forward compatible so that no applications are broken with each release.

i understand silverlight is a subset - however just that when people interpret taking System.Collection out (use only Generics) saying it's "obsolete" "deprecated" makes me bit nervous - we do need this facility just as much as Generics because there're times we don't know type until runtime.

You always have the option of using object -- List<object>
|
|
|
|
|
wait... what da ...
you're right never actually thought of that...
thanks mate, love you. List of objects hahaha. I think it will actually work.

"obsolete" and "deprecated" just means that better alternatives are available (*usually*). The classes are still technically useable, but it is just no longer recommended. You can even still use the original Menu class from .NET 1.0 lol.
And yes, for generic collections, you can use Collection<object> without having any problems, but I see that someone else already suggested that.

hey
Some guy just gave me a suggestion
class Person
{
Dictionary<string,> Properties;
}
While I don't know property type in compile time, I do know they all derived from Object!
So problem solved! Thanks!

You need to ship the DriveInfoEx.dll file with your application for it to work, and it must be in the same folder as the app (IIRC).

Hi all,
I got the following error on my application.
the Current thread must be set to single thread apartment (STA) mode before<br />
OLE calls can be made. Ensure that your Main function has STAThreadAttribute<br />
marked on it. This exception is only raised if a debugger is attached to the<br />
process.
Can someone comment on this, what means is.
Thanks a lot.
I appreciate your help all the time...

Try adding [STAThread] just above your Main function, like this:
[STAThread]
static void Main(string[] args)

Hi All.
I have Data grid and bind it to a bindingSource object.I set bindingsource DataSource property to a list of class A.
my list:
List<da.viwpurchasedetail> lstPVirtualDetails = new List<cooky.da.viwpurchasedetail>();
my Bindingsource:bndDetails
bndDetails.DataSource = lstPVirtualDetails;</cooky.da.viwpurchasedetail></da.viwpurchasedetail>
my grid:dgDetails
dgDetails.DataSource = bndDetails;
Then I add some A object to list But Gridview don't display any thing
DA.viwPurchaseDetail details = new Cooky.DA.viwPurchaseDetail();
details.discount = discount;
details.name = lblProduct.Text;
details.price = price;
details.quantity = quantity;
details.id = CurProduct.id;
lstPVirtualDetails.Add(details);
But my grid don't display any thing.

does 'myprogram.exe' run in taskmanager?
is 'mygprogram' designed to take parameters?
