Hi, please check your event viewer in the system section and filter for an event source of W32Time from the date that it cause you a problem. Post its information on this forum which could be easy to address the problem.
Thank,
|

|
please see my w32time:
Time Provider NtpClient: This machine is configured to use
the domain hierarchy to determine its time source, but it is
the PDC emulator for the domain at the root of the forest,
so there is no machine above it in the domain hierarchy to
use as a time source. It is recommended that you either configure
a reliable time service in the root domain, or manually configure
the PDC to synchronize with an external time source. Otherwise,
this machine will function as the authoritative time source in
the domain hierarchy. If an external time source is not configured
or used for this computer, you may choose to disable the NtpClient.
one more is:
The time service has not synchronized the system time for
86400 seconds because none of the time service providers
provided a usable time stamp. The time service is no longer
synchronized and cannot provide the time to other clients or
update the system clock. Monitor the system events displayed
in the Event Viewer to make sure that a more serious problem
does not exist.
thanks

We are Building our code in two Visual Studio 2005 environments.
I think that there is no difference in two development environments.
However, there is an environment which gives the following error
on running the executables built.
OSVersion : Windows Server 2003.
SYSERR
Error Information :
Error occurred in system call : CreateProcess()
Return Value : -1
Error Number : 22
Error Message : The device does not recognize the command.

Well, as far as I know file and setting transfer wizard seem not cover all setting of an application to the new profile especially the product that might not produce by Microsoft.
I suggest you to read this article[^] which might give you some idea for the task that you need.
Good luck

I am using a new firefox version 1.9.0.3306 and also have the adobe reader 9 version installed on my computer.A few days ago I e-mailed [ as an attachment ] someone a newspaper text article and there were no problems as the person at the other end did receive the article.
I had initially downloaded the article onto my computer from a newspaper internet site;by clicking on the "file" button in the top left hand corner of the firefox browser and then choosing [click on] the option that says "save page as ".The downloaded text file was just a ordinary written text page no different that the text on the code project site which I also sometimes download [ the questions and answeres ] to my computer.
After the person had received the newspaper text file that I had e-mailed ; I then tried e-mailing another file as an attachment but the person was not able to receive this second e-mail file even though I tried a couple of times to send it.
This particular text file was packaged in a PDF format by the internet site that I had downloaded it from. When I had initially downloaded that PDF text file onto my computer I just clicked on the pdf button that says "click to save this file to your computer or another location".
Since the person was unable to receive this pdf file ; I decided to erase the pdf text file from my computer and do a new download of the pdf file to my computer but this time I decided not to use the PDF adobe button when downloading the file.
I decided to try using the firefox "file" button that has the "save page as " option. So I re - downloaded the PDF text file to my computer using the firefox toolbar button. The PDF text file was still in a PDF format and had the same adobe icon after I had downloaded the pdf file to my computer.
So I then tried e-mailing this pdf text file as an attachment and that person RECEIVED THE E-MAIL on my first e-mail attempt.
I do not know if any others have experienced this problem or if it is a glitch on the computer I am using which is a DELL dimension 2350 running XP SP2 with no updates including no SP3.
However ; the performance of my Dell computer has been negatively compromised because a couple of months ago I made the mistake of updating the BIOS version AO1 to AO2 and for example I discovered that I could no longer do some of the performance tweeks in the REGEDIT . So I re-downloaded the original AO1 bios version but the DELL Techs on the telephone told me that the AO1 bios version that is on the DELL internet site has ALSO been REVISED which I can tell because although I am now able to do a couple of regedit performance tweaks [more than the AO2 version allows] ; there are still several other REGEDIT tweaks that I can no longer do because of the repressive and exploitative capitalistic sleazy control system.

Hello,
I'm looking for a (preferably free) simple virus scanner to run under Windows Server 2003 standard edition. The only thing this scanner should do is scan single files uploaded by users and generate a text file with the scan results. This output file will then be read by an application to determine which action to take.
If there's a better alternative to the text file output please let me know.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Wiebe

The file is zero bytes and if I look at the properties, there is no date information. If I try and delete this file using Explorer I get the following error:
Cannot delete file: Cannot read from source file or disk.
From a command prompt I get:
Could not find filename...
I performed a chkdsk but it found no errors.
Does anyone know of any tools or utilities I can use to rid myself of this file? I am running NTFS FWIW.

This doesn't work - the file isn't in use by another process - it seems to be a corrupt entry in the file table.

Have you tried in Safe Mode?

No, that is good advice though so I will try this next.

I've seen something like that before - in my case I had a single file that couldn't be deleted, but could be moved and renamed. I just hid it somewhere, as it annoyed the hell out of me.

|
|
|
Does the filename have a trailing dot but is missing the suffix (filetype)?
|
|
|
|
|
Almost! It has a trailing space ... and I just deleted it by using a \\?\ prefix.
|
|
|
|
|
Yep, it's the same type of problem, explorer.exe isn't reading those files.
|
|
|
|
|
Turns out the file had a space at the end of it's name ("FILENAME.ZIP ") and the Win32 API doesn't like names like this. The trick is to delete it from a command-prompt using a \\?\ prefix, e.g.:
del "\\?\C:\Documents and Settings\FILENAME.ZIP "
|
|
|
|
|
Good of you to post the solution, Rob
But what does the \\?\ do? Wouldn't this suffice? del "C:\Documents and Settings\FILENAME.ZIP "
Cheers,
Vıkram.
