Actually d@nish didn't insult anyone. All he did is tell the guy to try it. It's amazing what you can find out if only you try something first. The attitude d@nish got in reply was totally uncalled for.

Here, it would have been the same kind of responses, but leaning more towards buying a book. Why? Because there's a lot more to declaring a variable to hold an Integer other than Dim x As Integer. There's also scope and visibility issues to consider. All of that discuss would take an entire chapter in a book. So, yes, buying a book and learing the basics of the language would be a better answer than Dim x As Integer.

So (my first impression) he is making fun and he has no right since he did not test it him self.
When you answer "Did you try it" or "Check the help file" the answer supposed to be obvious AND the person who answer SHOULD know that the answer exist in "TESTING" or "READING" the help file.
If d@nish answer was "What have you tried?" yes, it will make a difference, because this answer will show that either this question has no specific question in it, and d@nish did not understand in specific the problem and he willing to help when he knows. but pointing Rabih to try it by him self and the solution is not there??I guess that is wrong. What you call that?

I knew that. He knew needed a customized control or needs to paint things himself. But, I do not believe in spoon feeding. I am a vb programmer working as freelancer and I have 5 projects right now, so if one in my project I see a control that maybe usefull to any of application, should I re-create it AGAIAN?

If you are (untill now) still finding your answer is (helpfull, and you correctly read the question, and correctly give an answer) then be sure we have a big problem of understanding each other and we will never meet in a middle point of understanding.

4) i asked this on msdn
5) then in the end i asked here on codeproject
anyway i got my answer on MSDN, SADLY the answers were here on codeproject but my search in google did not reveal them.

Since development work started getting outsource to the Middle East countries, especially India, there has been a huge rise in those very people asking all kinds of questions that a beginning student or very inexperienced programmer would ask. The typical level of detail when someone from that region asks a question is extremely low. There is usually no explanation of anything that was tried, nor any code snippets and a complete lack of knowledge on how to do research, like using Google or Yahoo. Your origianl post came very close to those specifications, and if there is anything we hate is someone who will not help themselves. I'd say most of the time the questions ARE coming from students, or newbies trying to make "easy" money, who have no idea what they're doing.

ME providing a link in the original thread implies that i was searching for something but could not find it, if you want to go there, most of the VB results were related to ASP & it was custom table with cells that the users created themselves.

Try what he told. Make a form. Put the control in it and check its properties. See if it offers anything like SelectedDateBackColor. If it does, great. If it doesn't, how can I do this? May be Paint it myself or create my own control by extending the original. Then, try creating a custom control. If you get stuck somewhere, then post the query.

The calendar controls have nothing to do with databases. All they do is supply a Date or DateTime object. You use the values you get out of the object supplied and incorporate that into your SQL via (preferrably) a Parameter object to your query.

Hi, I have a customer that has a VB6 COM application that are calling my WCF service in .NET C#.
I (we) are using windows integrated security and using nettcp binding. How should/can my customer set password and username at his xml, so that my service understand. Is this possible in VB6? The VB6 application is using an object that´s called XMLHttpObject. He has used it to talk to other web services (not in WCF)...one thing that differ now is that we are using integrated security.
I saw on msdn something about a service moniker http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms733928.aspx[^], but then my customer has to make/create his own .net application locally on his machine. Is this the only way?

I would be telling your customer that VB6 is no longer supported, it has not been for some years. VB6 is a dead language and he should not be using it as a current development platform. I suggest you go with the MSDN solution requiring dotnet.
