P.S. I can read html formatted e-mails fine, so I don't think the problem is with my e-mail software or configuration.

Your account says you've opted for Text formatted, not HMTL formatted emails. Which email client are you using? If it's Outlook it may have removed extraneous (it its NSHO) line breaks which has broken the formatting.
options:
- ensure your client is displaying Text emails correctly with messing with them
- change your preferences so you get HTML emails instead.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I can view text e-mails from others with no problem. I am using Windows Mail, I looked at the settings/options, doesn't seem to have anything that will strip the line breaks from incoming e-mail.

Can you please forward me the email you recieved? (chris at codeproject)

Chris
I get this all the time - the article update email always looks weird (all the line breaks are removed it seems). This is with Gmail (but Xiang seems to have got it with a proper mail client too).
Let me see if I can forward one such mail to you (not sure if I have kept those mails).

|
|
|

Ok I've forwarded one such email to you. I had to do it twice, as the first time, Gmail did some auto line wrapping - the second one is more accurate.

Probably doesn't help you a great deal, but I've seen the exact same thing (Yahoo mail in my case).
Cheers,
Vikram. (Cracked not one CCC, but two!)

On my MyCodeProject page, the link "View latest articles" in the Articles section links to the latest blogs, and my Blogs section doesn't have a default link.
A little bug?

When I look at Sean Ewington's page, it says he has 2 articles (to the right of "Articles Submitted"). However, when I go to the page that lists his articles, it says he only has 1 article (more specifically, it says "Articles by Sean Ewington (1 article found)" at the top of the page). Also, only one article is listed and there are no technical blogs. Off the top of my head, I can think of 3 causes for this:
- He is working on an article and it counts toward his article count, but I don't have a high enough user rating (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) to see it (or it is a work in progress so nobody can see it yet). I'd say this is confusing and should be fixed. Perhaps the article count should only show the number of articles I have permission to see. Or, the articles page should show the true count of article and it might say "there are X more articles you don't have permission to see".
- He deleted an article, but the total article count has not been adjusted. Obviously, this should be corrected, if this is in fact what is happening.
- There is some other bug.

Just thought I'd post some more theories.
- Sean appears to be part of some beta testing group. Not sure what that is, but maybe there is a beta section of the site where he posted an article and that is contributing to the count for all articles submitted.
- Sean is an editor. Maybe one of the articles he edited counted toward his article count.
- Maybe this is a remnant of an old bug and his article count just never got cleaned up to reflect his actual article count.
Visual Studio is an excellent GUIIDE.

Sean is an editor - he's part of our team at CodeProject HQ.
The wrong count bug has been identified and is due to some new article types (Technical blogs, Tips) that we've added, but which are not all public yet.
We should have a fix out soon.

I have a problem with the article: Introduction to the Microsoft Web Platform - dougturn.
This article only contains commecial information. This approach of dougturn does not give right to those thousants of peoples who helped the code project in their own time to create a valuable repositry of articles over the years. I like to vote for deleting of this article.

I don't get it. Why didn't MS submit this as a Product Showcase article? Are they asking their employees to moonlight as evangelists?
Now let me see...what's the term for articles without downloads?

During the last few days I read in one of the forums a comment that people are less likely to offer advice to questions that already have a response.
I also believe that to be the case. There are many possible reasons for that, despite the possibility that the only response might be either sarcastic or something like a request for clarification.
Does anybody therefore think that for the latter case it might be a good idea if there were a 'request for clarification' message type category?

I'm not sure 'request for clarification' would be any better than just 'General'.
If someone is answering a question with a request for more info the best thing they can do is change the message type away from 'answer'. Whether this be 'request for clarification' or 'general' won't matter - it's changing away from 'answer' that is the trick

If I paste an url into a message then click on the link[^] button it submits my message.
(Also auto clickety doesn't and never has worked from Opera)
Seems fine from FF.
Note that the convert url thingie was working as recently as yesterday.

Can't really reproduce it since I can't select the server I'm on but when I was on web21 the dropdown menu for 'message boards' only displayed 'All Message Boards...'
Don't know if it's coincidence or not.
Have noticed this before but usually a refresh solved it, now I had to do 4 refreshes, only on the last the server changed and the menu came back.
I guess on previous encounters with this bug I went to a new server after the first refresh.

Coincidentally, as I read your message I thought I'd check what server I'm on. Fancy that, I was on Web21 when I read your message, checked the menu and it's ok here. FF3.5.3
