I'm following along with this example: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc307238(VS.85).aspx[^]
and there is a flags option which is set to 0xFFFF which logs everything, but I can't seem to find the flags documented so that I will only record the errors. Can anyone tell me what those flags do?

Hi All
We Share our Internet Connection all over company through a server
My question is, How I can check the bandwidth from internet server machine to make sure we get proper quality and bandwidth
|
|
|
|
|
You can use TPTest[^].
The package includes both server and client.
The server needs to be connected directly to the ISP backbone for the test to be useful.
And as far as I know the only servers that are located on a backbone are in Sweden. My postings are a natural product. The slight variations in spelling and grammar enhance their individual character and beauty and are in no way to be considered flaws or defects.

MS insisted on installing this via the Wen Platform Installer. Now I want to install it again, but I don't want to download it again. Any ideas wheere the install file is located, if anywhere?
|
|
|
|
|
Brad,
WebPI 2.0 will cache the installer files during the download process in the following folder: "%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\". You will have to search this directory, though, because the file will actually be located in another directory whose name is generated by the application (ex: 2DSQKWD7). The application installer will be in there, but only if the temporary internet files haven't been deleted yet.

I'm trying to use the 'net use' command to map a drive from a Windows XP Embedded system(built using Target Designer), but when I try to execute the 'net use' command, it is un-recognized. The command works great on my desktop WinXP machine, just not on the embedded system. I'm not sure if we are missing a package that needs to be on the XP Embedded system?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Here is how i'm using the net use command:
net use X: \\150.168.80.4\Shared_Test
Here is what I'm trying to accomplish: Map to a drive from a WinXP Embedded machine only if the file server (Windows XP) is available. The batch file listed below is the one being run on the WinXP Embedded system.
:VERIFY
echo.
echo ----------VERIFYING FILESERVER AVAILABILITY----------
ping 150.168.80.4 -n 2
if errorlevel 1 goto RETRY
if errorlevel 0 goto MAPDRIVE
goto END
:RETRY
echo.
echo ----------FILESERVER UNAVAILABLE.......RETRYING!----------
goto VERIFY
:MAPDRIVE
echo.
echo ----------FILESERVER AVAILABLE.....TRYING TO MAP TO FILESERVER----------
net use X: \\150.168.80.4\Shared_Test
ping 127.0.0.1 -n 5 >NUL
IF NOT EXIST X:\ goto MAPDRIVE
IF EXIST X:\ goto END
:END
echo.
echo ----------FILESERVER MAPPING SUCCESSFUL....GOODBYE!----------
echo.

Hi,
I checked the Microsoft Xpe Target Designer and I believe you need to include the "Net.exe Utility" package and rebuild your image. You should also make sure its dependencies such as "CMD – Windows Command Processor" are also present. Also... the batch file your using is calling ping.exe so this means you will also need to include the "TCP/IP Utilities components".
By the way... it probably would have been better to ask this question in the Mobile Development[^] forum.

We have a Windows Server 2008 File Server (Raid-5 NAS) where I'd like to setup a private folder for each user on the domain and provide each with a soft quota of about 2 GB. The quota part is no problem, but is there a way of creating the folders and assigning the respective permissions without actually having to go to the shared folder on the NAS and creating each sub-folder by hand?
TIA

I guess you've solved this already, but...
have you tried using CACLS[^]?
You could create a batch file to loop through all the users.
This[^] came up from Google, which uses vbscript.
To create the user accounts themselves, you can use CSVDE[^]. (I think there was another one too, but forgot its name...)

I have deploy my web application in IIS 7.0 and I get below error
HTTP Error 404.3 - Not Found
The page you are requesting cannot be served because of the extension configuration. If the page is a script, add a handler. If the file should be downloaded, add a MIME map.
It is possible that a handler mapping is missing. By default, the static file handler processes all content.
The feature you are trying to use may not be installed.
The appropriate MIME map is not enabled for the Web site or application. (Warning: Do not create a MIME map for content that users should not download, such as .ASPX pages or .config files.)

Yes, please explain what the problem is so that anyone who has come across it before can offer advice. Just saying that your program is not working will not help anyone to understand what the problem might be.

Have you tried loading an Autorun.inf file on the device? Windows treats USB devices as removable storage, much like a CD, so this might work:
Autorun.inf-
[autorun]
open=Test.cmd
Test.cmd-
ECHO Hello. Did I pass?
If that displays the text, "Hello. Did I pass?" you can create your program on the device and reference the executable in the "open=" clause in the Autorun.inf file. If not, you've lost 2 minutes... I'd try it for you, but I left my jumpdrive in my work PC this weekend.

I have an Acer Aspire One which I have to replace the hard drive because the current one stopped working (hard job, BTW, had to disassemble it completely ).
Now, my question is: because it doesn't have a cd drive, can I just put the drive on another laptop, install windows and put it back on the netbook? Or will I have problems with drivers, etc?
|
|
|
|
|
You'll have problems with drivers as well as the HAL used unpinning Windows.
You'll also have problems with getting the drive to boot because when it goes back in the old system, it will no longer be the second drive in the machine, but the first. The boot information will have been written to your installation machine hard drive, not the drive your replacing.
If you can get a CD/DVD drive in the Aspire, you're MUCH better off.
