You should convert your image to raw format or binary format then you can save it in table. If you can think then I Can.

The out keyword causes arguments to be passed by reference. This is similar to the ref keyword, except that ref requires that the variable be initialized before being passed. To use an out parameter, both the method definition and the calling method must explicitly use the out keyword. For example:

Hello to All,
Actually I want to know that what is the procedure of Auto Generate Mail or SMS Delivery Message.
and
Secondly I want to Know that How Can I redirect my site to another site (While my site generate the error LIKE : Page not found or Site is going down.).
ThanksIf you can think then I Can.

Firstly, you should perhaps ask your question in the ASP.NET forum.
There are plenty of examples on how to send emails with VB.NET on the web, search Google for examples.
I would also search Google for ASP.NET global error handling for your site.
SMS messages would require a suitable sending device or 3rd Party web service accessible to your web server.Steve Jowett

IS AUTO GENERATE MAIL NOT POSSIBLE IN VB.net.
i want to do same like outlook account.If you can think then I Can.
|
|
|
|
|
That depends on what you mean by "autogenerate an email".
Genereate it in what? What application are you putting this capability in?
AND DO NOT SHOUT IN THE FORUMS!
|
|
|
|
|
What do you mean by autogenerate? If you are talking about autoreply, then yes but you have to read the emails and create a reply yourself. If you mean can you create and send emails using vb.net, then again, the answer is yes, there are thousands of examples both here and on Google. Bob

Yes I am taking about autoreply.
I want that if You send me mail then thank you note (auto generated) will send you automatically.If you can think then I Can.

|
|
So you need to read incoming mail, check for the message you want to reply to and generate an email. If you are using Exchange 2007 then you can use the web service provided, but without knowing any more about your system thats all I can suggest. Just make use of google, reading and sending email is a frequently asked question and there is loads of sample code out there. Bob

Can u send me name of service Providers?
ThanksIf you can think then I Can.
|
|
|
|
|
What service providers? I don't understand what you mean. You receive emails to a mail server, read them from there and generate a reply, I don't know where service providers come in to it. Bob

I have a small form that opens a XML file and populates a treeview to represent the data in it. I'd like to be able to drag an XML file, say off the desktop, into the treeview or the form and open the file. I've searched around and have only found examples of dragging nodes or dragging values from other controls on the form, not dragging an external file. Ideally, I'd just want the filename from the file dropped in, so that it functions more or less the same as when I open a file using the open file dialog. I'm using VB, .NET 2.0 and VS2008. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

On your TreeView properties, set AllowDrop=True on the TreeView
Add the following code to your Treeview Event handlers;
Private Sub TreeView1_DragDrop(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DragEventArgs) Handles TreeView1.DragDrop
Dim files As String() = CType(e.Data.GetData(DataFormats.FileDrop), String())
For Each item As String In files
'Modify your existing code to handle a file name passed to it
'Pass the file name to your File Reader Function Here to populate the Treeview
Next
End Sub
Private Sub TreeView1_DragEnter(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DragEventArgs) Handles TreeView1.DragEnter
If e.Data.GetDataPresent(DataFormats.FileDrop) Then
e.Effect = DragDropEffects.Link
Else
e.Effect = DragDropEffects.None
End If
End Sub

Exactly what happened...I started to reply and my boss came in and started talking to me, so I got sidetracked...good answer though!

First, I assume you've enable dragging with your TreeView . So, you want to hook the DragEnter event. When you click on a file in Windows Explorer, and start to drag, from what I can tell, it adds 8 Formats to the Data in the DragEventArgs :
Shell IDList Array
Shell Object Offsets
DragImageBits
DragContext
InShellDragLoop
FileDrop
FileNameW
FileName
FileNameW is the Windows file name and the data you're interested in. Here's an example of the DragEnter Event
If e.Data.GetDataPresent("FileNameW") Then
e.Effect = DragDropEffects.Link
End if
Then on the DragDrop
If e.Data.GetDataPresent("FileNameW") Then
End If

I have a routine for displaying to the user, information on the memory which is installed in their system. This routine is currently encapsulated in a class with each piece of information being returned as a property. The class's instantiated object is only used the once.
The routine that provides the class's properties with their information is executed when the class is instantiated from the calling routine requiring the memory information thus:
dim memInfo as new MemoryInformation . The class's code resides in the Public Sub New().
What I would like to know is, is this the best way to go about implementing this sort of functionality? Should I maybe use a Function and return the info in a collection of some sort or should the code in the class's New sub be moved to a separate method instead?
I'm rather new to OO programming and haven't got my head round when is the best time to use a class instead of a function. Any help would be greatly appreciated.No trees were harmed in the posting of this missive; however, a large number of quantum states were changed.

I vote for that being the best way. If you have a large amount of information that you need to return, then a class seems to be the way to go. As to whether to put it in the New or another function, I would normally put it into a function and have that function return a MemoryInformation class in case you want to reuse your class in a different way later, but I wouldn't begin to state that there's a right or wrong way to do that.

Thanks for the reply. I've been thinking along similar lines. My routines 'work' as I have them implemented at the moment. I was wondering at the time I was writing the routines whether it was the 'best' way. I've been 'brought up' as a procedural programmer and find OO programming a complete paradigm shift to what I'm used to! Hello everybody,
I've got a problem to format the text of a button.
I'd like to change the font-weight of a substing of the button text.
To be more exactly:
The dynamicly generated text [DATE: start-time - end-time] (it's for a caledar application)
I want to date in font-weight 'bold' and the rest of the text in font-weight 'normal'
like this --> [2010-02-16: 10:00 - 11:00 ]
I googled a lot, but i just found how to do it with other controls like the RichTextBox
RichTextBox1.SelectionStart = RichTextBox1.Find("text")
RichTextBox1.SelectionColor = Color.Yellow
I can't find a solution for the button control.
Can anybody help me?
