Yeah, initially people did have a rather vague view of what are appropriate topics for the forum. Eventually the forum took care of this automatically. And now you can see a really wide range of topics there.
People who don't normally post so much are now actively participating in discussions. This can only be a good thing. It'd be better if newbie Indian CPians could be lured there for some kind of basic orientation (at least those that need it).
I still think you should come back. It will add value to the forum if you do that.

Honestly, if you two were my kids I'd have sent you to your rooms to calm down and wouldn't let you out until you apologised. Would you behave like this if you were in the same room? Then don't behave like that in the forums, the pair of you are acting like spoiled brats.
Ok, I had to 5 that, Pete!

Thanks Nish,
If He gives others a vote of 1 without justifying answer then there is no issue,
But If other gives him vote of 1 then, He is reporting to CP for this.
Wow!! Desperate to points.

It can be of Security Issue but by his code I can see that the problem is regarding unknown Location,

Trying to vote of 1 for this[^] article but button "vote" gives no response.
Am I missing something?

I just voted it. No problems.
There is definitely no vote from yourself there. Are you perhaps running NoScript or have 'Run JavaScript' turned off?

OK.
That's all my limited knowledge can come up with.
Someone else will be able to help, I'm sure.

The voting script (javascript) file was updated a few days ago and you may be using a cached version of the old one. Hit Ctrl+F5 to force a refresh and try again

I thought so. Chrome is particularly aggressive about caching old copies

I Had also the same problem,
But after putting your vote write some thing inside the description to your vote and your vote will be added,
Thanks

Hi Hiren,
The part: “even if I write a reason” means that I wrote a description.

For the last day or so (since the Lounge link moved in the menu), I get a 'page not found' error when navigating directly to the link http://www.codeproject.com/lounge.aspx[^]. It starts to show the Lounge page, but then clears and shows the 'page not found'. I'm using IE7, and this link is in a shortcut in my favorites bar. I'm using IE7 behind a proxy, if that makes a difference.
Clicking the new!improved! 'The Lounge' link in the menu works correctly.
Interestingly, clicking the link I supplied above from the message preview works.

If you search a little further down the messages in this forum, you will find someone with the same problem and a suggested solution.

Sigh. I hate black magic hand-waving solutions to problems. I really wish the corporate IT yabbos would approve IE8 already.

This one has been bugging me for quite some time already (I also trust it has been signaled before, but maybe a reminder is what it needs):
while editing a message, pasting some text causes the textbox to scroll back to the top. This is a nuisance, especially for longer messages.
Example: a reply to some question requires some code; I create the text and paste the code, and ask for a preview. I decide to change the name of a variable in the code, so I replace it once by typing, then want to copy-paste-paste-paste; now the window scrolls up each time, requiring a lot of eye and hand movements to compensate.
[ADDED]
This used to happen earlier when using FF3.0, and now happens FF3.6; I just discovered it does not happen on Chrome 6.0 (I don't want to get chromatized permanently!)

This is, unfortunately, a quirk of Firefox and it's ridiculous lack of clipboard support. I haven't found a way to get around it.
