A 'hacky' way is to add a large number of after your own title to push that off the right edge of the title bar.
Alternatively have a look at this: Ajax Control Toolkit ModalPopup[^]

Hi
i need to allocate students to the exam hall,These are the rules for placing an exam to a room:
1. If total of students is bigger than the biggest room capability, then the class will be split. (ex. if the total of students is 120, but the biggest capacity of room is 40, then the exam will be split into three rooms)
2. One room can handle two (maximum, cant more than 2 exams) exams at the same time and day.
I am going to minimize the use of room and day. So the exam will be held densely (lets say, if the timetable made by human will product a timetable for 12 days, i want to minimize it to 10 days.. or 9 days
can you give me what logic i should start with.
thanks

Ok, and now you want logic for query or to design your web application?

You have specified the logic in your question, just write down how you would calculate how many rooms you need, how many exams you can run per day, etc.

if this is a "real" problem, then you should also consider that all students taking the "history exam" need to be scheduled on the same day. Otherwise the students who take the exam on day 1 will tell the students on day 2 about the exam.
This sounds too much like a homework assignment, so your not going to get specific help in doing your homework.

guys... i have a website (asp.net + web service) and a desktop app (c#) that are related but not so related as to have them both in the same solution
thing is i need to have a set of common classes that are used mainly for the web service ... stuff that gets shuttled bck and forth basically
what is the "proper" way to share said classes between 2 projects?
thnx

I normally include the other project as an additional project in both solutions. Make sure that you add them into your application as a project reference and the up to date version gets copied in locally when you build.
We also use a CI process so that changes for one application would get picked up and built in to the other application.

thnx pete
not sure i understand tho when you say: "include the other project as an additional project in both solutions"
there are only 2 "solutions" ... the website and the desktop app

thnx for the link but no... doesn't help at all

Move the common classes into a third class library project and then reference that in both current projects.

ahhhhhhhh light in my darkness
i knew that would be the method but the actual way to do it in VS eluded me
thank you

Sorry I didn't get a chance to get back to you. I'm just back in - this was the solution that I would have pointed you towards.

I am writing a search mechanism in asp.net. User enters the keywords, from the result string, i look for the index of keyword entered by user and showing results onwards. I want my code to look for space character such that i users enters 'ruth' my code gets the index of ruth and showing results. i want it to look for space before keyword so that complete word can be showed e.g 'truth'.
Thanks in Advance

You can use RegularExpresion[^]:
e.g
string MainString="Truth is good";
MatchCollection mc = Regex.Matches(MainString,@"\wruth");
if(mc.Count>0)
{
string result = mc[0].Value;
}
Hope this will help you.

Hello
I am using Visual Web Developer 2010 Express (with C# as code-behind) to develop a website.
I am loading data from the database into a DataTable and then I bind the DataTable to GridView with the following code:
GridView_Report.DataSource = reportsTable;
GridView_Report.DataBind();
The GridView displays the data correctly with all the columns and rows. On the Page I also have a button that will download the data in the GridView to a .csv file.
However there was an error and when I debugged it turns out that the GridView_Report.Columns.Count says that the GridView has 0 columns. How can this be when the GridView actually shows about 15 columns in the browser?
The GridView_Report.Rows.Count is correct with 27 rows.
All help will be appreciated.

From MSDN,
"Automatically generated column fields are not added to the Columns collection."
Try getting the count from the datasource object instead of gridview.
|
|
|
|
|
You can get Columns from DataSource of GridView control.
e.g
int TotalColumns = ((DataTable)GridView_Report.DataSource).Columns.Count;
