In many dialogs you see a separator between 2 text blocks (looks like 1 line of a group box). How do you draw such a line?
|
|
|
|
|
create a "picture" object that's only one line high. (it's the icon that looks like it has a picture on it)

It's not enough,
you need to enable the sunken style as well.

Hi,
I want to use the AciveX component 'MScomm32.ocx' in my Visual C++ project. The registration of mscomm32.ocx seems to be successful with the command 'rundll32 c:\winnt\system32\mscomm32.ocx, DllRegisterServer', but when I try to insert the ActiveX Component 'Microsoft Communications Control' in the project I get the error message that I have no license. It's obviously because I dont't have VB 6.0 installed on my machine. But is there maybe another activex component available which is able to 'talk' to the serial ports including all the features of mscomm32? Or does somewhere a 'free library exist?
Thanks a lot
Vassili

I know that there is somwhere answer on my question but I couldn't find it by now
I want to open a html page in the default browser.
the code i use opens it using Windows explorer
ShellExecute (NULL, "open", "iexplore.exe" , pMyReg->Install_Dir+"\\Stats\\stat.html", NULL, SW_SHOW);
How to obtain the default browser, or maybe there is another way for opening html page in the new browser window.
|
|
|
|
|
I would just call:
ShellExecute(NULL, "open", pMyReg->Install_Dir+"\\Stats\\stat.html", NULL, NULL, SW_SHOW);
This would start the default browser and open the file stat.html.

_outp(0x64, 0xAD);
and
__asm mov al, 0xAD __asm out 0x64, al
do the same... but what do they do??

Make a search of the article named CHyperLink from Chris Maunder here on CP. Look a the source, there is a GotoURL() function in it which is very efficient for finding the default browser (searching in the registry if the standard ShellExecute fails).
Hope this helps.

Hello,
I need to convert that (CString -> IStream), how do I do it?
thank you in advance...
|
|
|
|
|
In MFC, there's a private class called CArchiveStream. You could probably use that in conjunction with CMemFile to write the CString to the stream. Something like this:
#include <afxpriv2.h>
CString yourString( _T("Hello") );
CMemFile memFile;
CArchive archive( &memFile, CArchive::store );
CArchiveStream streamArchive( &streamArchive );
archive << yourString;
CArchiveStream is derived from IStream, so now you can use streamArchive like an IStream object. I haven't ever tried it so I'm not sure if it'll work or not.

Thanks a lot for your interest, but this has not worked...
I'm trying to dynamically modify the phrase that must be spoken in the speech sdk 5.1 in order to be able to make my programs talk to the user...
it seems to need a IStream as a parameter... and I'd like to do it using the strings generated by my app...
|
|
|
|
|
IStream *pStrmI;
HRESULT hr = CreateStreamOnHGlobal(NULL, TRUE, &pStrmI);
ASSERT(SUCCEEDED(hr));
CComBSTR sText(L"HELLO WORLD") ;
pStrmI->Write(sText, sTextLenght, &dwWritten);
Depending on what you are doing sometimes you need to
pStrmI->Commit(..);
This code wasn't spellchecked

OK thanks, I'll try it...

Hi,
Please can anyone help me in setting up page setup (Margins) on Printer before printing a page using WIN32 coding.
I have displayed page setup common dialog box and got the New settings (marigns and pager size...etc) on "PAGESETUPDLG pagedlg;" structure. Now before calling printing routine I want to apply this settings on to printer so that printer takes selected margins to print.
Pls help with required API's and if any code available. (WIN32 coding)

You do not give up easily!
No one could give you an answer on the last five times you posted exactly the same text. so there must be someone there to give it at the sixth, seventh or eighth repost.
Have you ever taken into consideration that maybe your problem is not adequately described, so that others have no chance to help you?
But by now, I think you have annoyed even those who could have helped you so much that they will ignore you.
So will I.
My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

Project -> Add to project -> components and controls -> Registred ActiveX Controls -> Control Calendar...
If you don't like this one you can find a lot of them here in CP.

I am doing a project in VC 6. I am having a thread for processing some data which I wanted to plot on a bitmap. There is difference between the maps, when I plot the data straight on the screen and plot on a memdc and bring it to the screen, What could be the reason?? Can anybody give some solution??
