Hi !
Well, I'll state my problem simply. It applies to Visual Studio .NET 2003 family.
I create a skeleton MFC app with database support through header files. Now, I go and create a form resource to function as my CRecordView-derived class' form. However, after I completed the form, I started binding it to a class. The only options available were the generic MFC classes CDialog, CFormView etc.
Now, is it possible to use the wizards to bind this resource to a CRecordView-derived class ? When I can't even add a CRecordView class manually into the Class View. The only available option is CDatabase, through the MFC ODBC Consumer option.
Thanks in advance,
Antti

So what part are you having trouble with? The network part or the user interface part or the login part?

I guess with the network thing cause I already have the UI.

Well, that's something different entirely!
You should think of the process of logging in over the network as two individual parts: The network part (which concerns how the login/password is sent from the user interface to the server, as well as how the server responds), and the login ("authentication") part (where the server takes the username and password and verifies that it is valid). Instead of building the whole application at once, it is easier to build each piece individually so that if something goes wrong, you can test each part separately.
Getting back to your question, you're wanting to use a database to store the usernames and passwords. From your other post, I'm going to assume you're using MySQL to handle your database. To get started, you'll need to learn SQL, the language for talking to databases. A good interactive tutorial is here:
http://www.sqlcourse.com/[^]
Once you've got an idea of how a generic database works, you can progress on to actually creating a database in MySQL and interacting with it:
http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Tutorial.html[^]
There, that should get you started.

You can get the dialog data via its member variables. I see you are also creating the dialog dynamically, so you need to do this before deleting the dialog.
For Example: Lets say your dialog retrieves some text and a number from the user. You need to instantiate the dialog, the user will fill in the information, then the SDI app will get this when the dialog is closed. My (untested) code would probably look like:
<br />
int nNumber;<br />
CString strText;<br />
TestDlg* dlg = NULL;<br />
<br />
<br />
dlg = new TestDlg;<br />
<br />
<br />
if( dlg.DoModal() == IDOK )<br />
{<br />
strText = dlg->m_strText;<br />
nNumber = dlg->m_nNumber;<br />
}<br />
<br />
<br />
delete dlg;<br />

Hi,all!
I'm trying to change the colors of CComboBoxEx. I have my own class CMyComboBoxEx derived from CComboBoxEx. I'm handling the WM_CTLCOLOR message in my class this way:
if (nCtlColor==CTLCOLOR_EDIT || nCtlColor==CTLCOLOR_LISTBOX) {
pDC->SetTextColor(RGB(0,128,255));
pDC->SetBkColor(RGB(255,255,222));
return brush_window;
}
There are no problems with the edit box. But text colors (foreground and background) in the listbox do not change. The brush does paint around the text though.
This piece works for CComboBox but not for CComboBoxEx!
I have also tried dynamically subclassing of editbox and listbox like it is shown in some articles but to no avail. I have also tried subclassing the child of ComboBoxEx32 which is a plain ComboBox but it turns out that in this case some functions of CComboBox (like DrawItem,MeasureItem) should defined additionally.
Please share your experience, give ideas.
Thank you.

Hi!
I made a research on cd writing with c++ and found a sdk called Nero SDK which uses the nero api to write files and it is quite fine (and free). But the problem is that it must have Nero Burning software on a computer to work and I don't think everyone uses Nero Burning Software... Are there any alternatives for writing on a cd? ( even difficult ones would do).
Thank you a lot for your answers!

I will share it if I can find! I already found that it can be done with DDK SDK but I not sure if it is free or not!

Under WinXP, use IMAPI - it's part of Windows.
