I was not able to do a PASTE operation. The 'paste' option is still 'not enables' even after i 'copy' a file at my PC.
I had logged in the required user name password....
Drag and drop also didnt help me?!?!

Best to speak to the network admin at the cafe, they may have turned off various explorer functions, such as Paste.
Im sure if your a regular they will install an FTP client and open the relevant ports for you.

Im messin' around with a site for me and me pals, I hope in the end to have a desktop and mobile app from which you can post right to the site via a web service. fuxup.com[^] - looks pritty dull at the moment though (and a little buggy) its hard to find the time!

Hi,
I need to do the following from a web page automatically
1) Create and save a local (eg. on the C drive) text file that will contain data that is on the current page.
2) Open that file up by calling shellexec. Because the file will have a .~la extension, my other program will then be able to open this up and use the data.
I'm in a .Net environment, so any suggestions of of to use Scripting, ASP.Net, C#, VB.Net to accomplish to would be appreciated

Check out the .NET Class:
System.IO.File
This can create/delete files.
Theres a directory one too:
System.IO.Directory
If you are on a web platform (i.e ASP.NET) you will need to make sure that you have the relevant priviliges for the ASP.NET user account on the directory.
The System.IO.File class is relevant to all .NET languages.

I am trying to make a drop down list on a web page to look excactly like the one that is on MS Word on the toolbar that is used to select a font or font size.
I want, in other words, the blue borders when the user mouse over it.
Is this possible?

Yup, I am aware of this style.
But it doesnt have any effect when you apply it on the SELECT tag.
I think that there is no styke that changes the SELECT tag...

I see,
but I have to use a select tag. I need a drop down menu. I dont want to re invent the weel by making a custom drom down menu.
If I cant reformat it using Style Sheets then I will use it as it is..

Is there a way to turn off the "clickability" or to make dead an imagebutton?
I use one for a tab. The tab has 2 images, one for on state and one for off state. I need an additional state...a dead state for the selected tab. In other words, the selected tab is on and "not clickable".
Is this possible?

Hello~
How do you connect an HTML to a database? I heard that it can be done using Visual Basic... Are there any tutorial out there that might help? I'm currently trying to make an online member registeration website~ I'm clueless right now...

You'll need to include some scripting in your HTML code to communicate with the data store. Google on ASP or PHP for examples, or check out the beginner stuff on this site. CodeProject has several good articles on data access, but you'll need to study quite a few of them to get a solid understanding of the process. A good one to begin with is Chris Maunder's article on accessing MS Access databases using ADO[^]. It's far from complete, but a good start.

can any one guide me how to start off and how to do it. one of the problem i cannot understand that how can i get a new phone number for each and every customer of mine. these companies are surely using a smart trick about that.

I think these companies have significant capital and deals with phone companies to do this sort of thing. Unless you have a lot of money and/or want to make a real business venture out of it, I don't think it's probably the best sort of project to work on for purely educational purposes.
