No I can't. I assume that PlaySound etc. is declared in <winmm.h>, is that okay? Well, if it is and I build the thing (executable), the LINKER crashes, cuz there is no .lib file for that function. SO: Where the heck can I get it?!

Okay, I found it. It's #pragma comment(lib, "winmm.lib")

Check out CxImage. Someone posted a thumbnail function in the article discussion thread (which worked well). I haven't tried the lastest version, but it looks like he now has included thumbnail support.

I had some applications with a window with one main control in them (like an edit control). So on WM_SIZE i did a GetWindowRect() to get the size of the main window and then i used SetWindowPos() to set the edit window to those coordinates and adjust the size. But now i ran those apps on XP and they don't fit nicely anymore, i think its because of the titlebar or something, the visual themes or something. Anyone know how i can size a control so it will always fit nicely to the window?

I am looking for some sample program that will accept key strokes and then send them to another running program like Notepad. Does anyone have any sample that I can use as a starting point ? Ideally, I would like to identify the target program using mouse click or automatically by Window title. Also, being able to select and replace the entire text in the target window will be great. Also can I send mouse moves to the target window ? Too many questions,

I'm using the "delete" operator to delete linked lists I have in my application. Two of the limked lists delete fine, but the third does not. I get a message in debug "Damage after Normal block(#630) at ..." and the memory address.
It shouldn't be affected by the other lists since it doesn't work even if I change the order
Any ideas or possible solutions would be greatly appreciated

allocated with "new" , removed with delete
suddenly had a thought there - I'm at home now, so I can't see it but |I think part of the new class is a structure - would be the problem?
Thanks for the response guys

You aren't allocating enough memory to hold you data. There really isn't much more than can be said. One of the most common causes is not providing room to store the NULL in a character string.
int nLength = strlen (pszInput);
char *psz = new char [nLength];
strcpy (psz, pszInput);
*BOOM*
it should have been:
char *psz = new char [nLength + 1];

I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.

are you sure - the problem is ony when I'm deleting data, and I found a way around it in my program where I add more data and the profram works fine
