I'm having a problem and being that I'm very new to Javascript I need to ask for help. I wrote a script to grab the time, grab the time and display it in a text box with an onclick command. Ok thaty part was easy but here's the problem. I need to display the time twice but it needs to be different. I'm using the first .js to load the start time of a project and the second one to populate the stop time. The issue is Date()lets a value on load and I can't figure out how to refresh Date()so the end time is different than the start time.

Each time you create a date object it should be populated
with the current system time.
var startdate = new Date();
var stopdate = new Date();
These will both have different times etc.

Push an html page --- This is what I don't know how to do??????
&VerifyFile();
Push an html page --- This is what I don't know how to do??????

Is there a way (without the use of javascript) to have a form with two different actions, depending on which button is pressed? It'd be great if I could get some help. Thanks!

The last stat I read (I believe it was w3c actually said only 2% of people don't have javascript enabled)
That being said...the javascript required for what you want to accomplish would likely be 100% browser compatible...with any real browser.
Other than using javascript...I can't see that as being possible...perhaps embedding a form inside another form...but that would cause your submit buttons to probably be one on top of the other(no side by side, unless you position absolute or something)...and it might break xhtml compliance...i'm not sure...
Cheers

I would use Javascript, but since I'm making the website for someone else.. I have to abide by his wants and needs. It's retarded, but hey.

I was needing to know how to raise a javascript event like window.open after the code in the c# code behind file runs. The Jscript will be calling on data that the code behind will manipulate first. Can this be done and how?
Thank you,

Have you thought about returning a script block back to the page after the postback? That is, you can send a block of script by using Response.Write in your code behind when you are finished so that it will trigger on the click. Just be sure to leave make the script you pump back to trigger the event as global and not bound in a javascript function (it can call a function but if you want it to execute, you need code outside the function to call it).

Hi there,
got a question.
When entering the windowsupdate, and choose to install, you'll get a webpagedialog box to pop out, and shows you how much is left of the retrieval of the update component...
how do i make a dialog box inside my IE, so that it doesn't show up as a new instance of IE.
catch my drift?

“The request failed with HTTP status 403: Access Forbidden” and/or “HTTP 403.9 - Access Forbidden: Too many users are connected”.
In debugging web services I frequently run into these two problems which, presumably, amount to the same thing. There is loads of stuff on the net about this and the bottom line seems to be that I need to up the number of connections on my site. This, I am informed, is done from the Connections Tab on Internet Service Manager which can, apparently, be got at via the MMC. Fine … but I don’t see it. I am running XP Pro, I have IIS installed (and running fine in other respects), Snap-ins is checked on the IIS installable options yet when I go to MMC I don’t see Internet Service Manager, as much of the stuff on the net suggests I should, and I don’t see it when I try to Add Snap-ins either.
Am I blind, stupid, or is there something else I should know?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Oops ... found the answer, and it is not a good one. From Microsoft support ... "403.9 - Too many users. The number of users who are connected to the server exceeds the connection limit that you have set. For additional information about how to change this limit, click the article number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
248074 Error Message: Access Forbidden: Too Many Users Are Connected 403.9
NOTE: Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Microsoft Windows XP Professional automatically impose a 10-connection limit on IIS. You cannot change this limit."

I am writing a script to use the Content-Type: application\/force-download to download a file to an end-user.
My script is working and I can download the file but in the "Save As" dialog box there are the following fields:
"File Name:"
"File Type:"
"From"
How do I supply those fields to the browser?
Also is there a want to suggest what the name of the saved file should be.
Thank you, in advance.

This is what I used recently when I had to dump a text file to the user and have them download it instead of display it:
Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment; filename=Test.txt");
Response.AddHeader("Content-Length", s.Length.ToString());
Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream";
Response.Write(s);
Response.End();

That is what I give you. Using that code it will (at least it does on my system) fill in the file type, filename and the "From" comes from the domain name.

On my system, IE 6.0.2800.1106 the file type is blank and filename is the name of the file that runs the script not the name of the file to be downloaded?
Any ideas?

I want to check sql injection for my sites...
is there any checking tools?
thanks.

A simple check is do you concatenate SQL strings anywhere on your site, or more specifically do you take variables directly from form / querystring vars and build them straight into the sql string. If yes, then you are faced with the problem.
