The #1 should be TaskSwitchXP, because it is great and should have been a native part of winXP , and in 7zip source I need to dig heavily through it to extract functional zip/unzip code of my interest.

What about C++ Builder (CodeGear)?
|
|
|
|

IDE is written in Borland Delphi and the Compiler is written with C (Borland C++ not with VC++).

Yes, but it is easy to use and the performance is exceptional.
The only C++ environment really RAD of the market (win32).
I would like to see a list of
"Best Open Source Project's in C++ Builder".

While I think it is a good idea to list the sources you have, you listing falls FAR SHORT of even coming close to listing the BEST open source projects. For example, you FAIL to lisy VideoLan which is the best open source media player at:

Anyone could create this article in 5 minutes with a Google search and I find your article very poor and I would grade it "D" if I were a reviewer.

VideoLan is not using MFC class library, or direct win 32 APIs it can only be compiled using VC++ compiler.
Kindly note this list does not include opensource projects written in C++. That would be really huge list.

I would appreciate if you yourself submit an article with complete list of best open source projects for VC++/MFC by spending your 10 minutes of time. That would be beneficial for the whole VC++ community.

I honestly would take a lot more than 5 minutes to create such a article. An article like this cannot be created by just searching and listing the projects. It takes time and experience to go through all those projects and evaluate them as you use them so that you find them suitable to list as one of the best projects.
The article might have missed some of the projects. But that's not the point, the article has tried to short list some of the best not all the best projects available.
As for me, it was very much helpful and I really appreciate the work done in the article.

Thanks to the author for providing the list. I also agree that it is not easy to create such an article within 5 minutes.

I am eagerly waiting for a grade "A" or "Ex" article from TVMogul for a better comparison .

I'm pretty sure you cannot get this list in five days or five weeks. You may start from your five minutes Google search. But it takes far more time to remove those projects not good, and only provide the best here.
I appreciate your feedback, but you can be more appreciate on others' work.

If you've found more useful open source projects,
You could append the list in the message board.
Somebody would really appreciate for your work.

Take K-Meleon for example, its solution file contains lib path like "xxx;F:\xxx\xxx\nsxxx.lib", do you think the whole solution could be compiled?!
I remembered that it took me quite a few hours to do something like strlen->lstrlen to make anUnicode binary because the code is messed up with ANSI and Unicode string.

If you are an experienced developer, you can fix those library issue in seconds.
For Unicode, some application don't care unicode and still use us-ascii only. Actually, unicode doubled data memory usage and disk space. You may keep your application for both, but in case of time, unicode is not a must-have key feature in MFC world. Sure, it's my openion only.

Unicode and linker setting are just 2 examples of my point of view on Open-Source project, at least most of them. The original dev got the credit and who makes the patch/fix does not... So people just do not fix their problems.
Today, I download the memcached Win32 port, the solution is VS8.0 but it never compiles on my box, implicit-cast error, wrong header file, etc ... So I still says they are far from perfect.

WinSCP is written with Borland C++ Builder it does not use MFC or VC++.
BTW, tortoisecvs uses wxWidgets (not MFC) and VFC is a framework that can be compiled with VC++ just like Gcc is used to compile it in linux and Mac OSX.
|
|
|
|
|
Also new Filezilla 3 has moved to wxWidgets.
But winscp definitely should not be listed here!

Even if we don't participate in those open source project, we can learn MFC from them.
I really like to know more open source projects in which MFC is heavily used.
